We are looking for an Assistant Company Manager to provide day to day Company Management support and cover to all RSC productions, acting companies & stage management teams.This newly created position is integral to RSC operations and is offered as a full time, fixed term contract for 12 months. This is a fast paced and exciting opportunity that welcomes someone with experience and knowledge in either Stage Management or Production where you will manage and support our acting companies, creative teams and freelance Stage Managers in a busy, high profile professional theatre environment. A snapshot of key responsibilities will include:• To deputise for the Head and Deputy Head of Company and Stage Management as and when required• Working with the Company Management team to provide Company Manager support during rehearsals and performances to acting companies, stage management and creative teams.• Assist with the onboarding of Stage Management teams working with the Company and Stage Management Co-ordinator to set up and run prep weeks and Induction days. • To attend rehearsals in London and Stratford-upon-Avon as required and to attend any relevant meetings, (production, departmental, company, logistic), and meet & greets etc as well as run throughs, technical and dress rehearsals, understudy rehearsals, performances, and Press performances.• Liaising with the Planning Team, New Works Dept and London Ops colleagues regarding the booking of internal and external rehearsal rooms and the specific needs of shows and workshops• To work with the RSC Accommodation team to help with any company or Stage management housing needs.• To support the setting up of any RSC National and International touring productions, inc. co-ordinating all aspects of Visa applicationsThe ideal candidate will have/be:• Professional theatre experience in Stage Management or Production• Experience of working with Children and Young performers and the relevant licensing requirements • Proactive and flexible approach to work• Ability to work well under pressure• Strong attention to detail• Team collaboration and project management skills• Strong problem-solving skills• Proficient in Excel and payroll management • Knowledgeable about BECTU, Equity and Music Union agreements• Experience with understudy management This position is offered as a full-time, fixed-term role for 12 months working 48 hours per week, including evenings and weekends as necessary. The role is based in Stratford-upon-Avon but will also include visiting rehearsals and productions in London and on tour.
