Bulletins Director x 4 Sky Sports News

Following a period of on the job training, you will be expected to oversee the entire production following a running order devised by the producer. You will be interacting with all production, operational and technical staff involved in the Bulletins operation and coordinate their efforts to ensure all runs smoothly.

Bulletins will work off an automated gallery system and the Bulletins Director will be required to:

· Ensure rundowns are populated with all necessary codes and instructions.
· Operate the automated system for bulletins either live or pre-recorded as required.
· Resolve problems and minimise the disruption to programmes timely and efficiently.
· Direct the activities of studio & remote camera operators to provide the best possible pictures.
· Direct the use of on screen text and graphics and have sufficient knowledge to spot mistakes in advance.
· Coordinate with MCR, Sat Ops, Remote Sites (ENG or OB) and remote talent to ensure crosses and 2-ways work.
· Determine audio needs and liaise with Sound Supervisors & Operators to ensure programme requirements are met.
· You will deal with staff from a variety of departments including technical, operational & support as well as those providing external facilities, ENG cameras, reporters and OBs.
· You must be able to communicate effectively and quickly with staff members as well as presenters and guests both in person and remotely.
· You must be able to swiftly evaluate situations and react rapidly to changes in plans and calmly ensure that all staff and contributors involved in programmes are aware of exactly what is happening as well as when and how it's going to happen.

Candidate Experience:

· Good knowledge of and interest in Sport
· Understanding of programme formats & stylistic requirements
· Some knowledge of systems and equipment used within Sky Sports News
· Adaptability
· Ability to work in a pressurised environment
· Understanding of and ability to meet viewer needs
· Ability to create added value by making the subject as interesting as possible
· Appreciation of the inevitability of working anti-social hours on a rota basis.

Previous experience of working on automated systems is not essential but advantageous.

Additional Requirements:

· Follow Sky's Health & Safety policies and procedures, report any safety issues to line management and participate in Sky's objective to be a safe and healthy workplace.
· Carry out any other additional requirements that are necessary for this position.
