Digital Content Creator

Flexibility is required as some filming / photography will need to occur once the school day has ended or when events are taking place.
Salary £40,000 to £45,000 FTE (dependent on experience)

St Paul's Girls' School are seeking a Digital Content Creator. Reporting to the Director of Communications, this is a pivotal role that has both strategic and operational elements. The post holder will effectively and efficiently manage all aspects of the school's day to day social media, video and photography and be responsible for the creation and implementation of the school's social media strategy, which supports the overall strategic objectives of the school.

We are looking for someone with experience of storyboarding, planning, shooting and editing video content and animation. You will also have excellent post production skills, technical and camera systems knowledge.

Key Duties and responsibilities will include:
• Develop a good personal understanding of the SPGS brand, purpose, mission, key audiences and motivations
• Work with a range of people to gather content, generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily
• Support projects e.g. Opening Doors fundraising campaign, Giving Days, bursary campaigns, Centre for Design and Innovation opening, announcements, etc by planning, creating and publishing high quality content
• Offer digital support and create compelling content for admissions events or conferences
• Create compelling and relevant digital brand campaigns and overall narratives
• Collaborate closely with Communications, Marketing, Admissions, Partnerships and Development colleagues to effectively market the school, bursaries, partnerships and the aims of the Paulina Foundation
• Support search engine optimisation and other digital marketing activities
• Analyse and report on content performance with weekly and monthly analytics and use this information to enable the application and sharing of knowledge of audiences, user experience and SPGS marketing objectives
• Monitor the social media accounts and work closely with the Director of Communications on communications with followers and responding to queries
• Oversee student media and film activity
• Train and support staff across SPGS in use of social media and brand story telling
• Undertake any other duties that may reasonably be requested appropriate to the grade and responsibilities of the post

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential:
• Brand management - a proven ability to understand and implement a succinct narrative consistently across all internal and external channels
• Creative storytelling, with experience of bringing the purpose and values of a brand to life in a compelling and engaging way by producing creative and high quality outputs
• Proven experience in content creation, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise across multiple platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and X
• Deep understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, trends, and best practices
• Self-motivated creative thinker with a passion for digital and a desire to stay ahead of the industry's curves
• Experience of planning and creating innovative social media campaigns targeting a diverse range of audiences, with the ability to identify compelling ways to communicate and drive action e.g. donations
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and demonstrable experience of working collaboratively with a variety of colleagues and stakeholders
• Strong experience and knowledge of:
• Filming and photo editing, including the use of software such as iMovie, Final Cut Pro, and Adobe Creative products such as Premier Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator and lnDesign
• Proficiency in creative tools including Canva
• Experience of organising a busy digital content production schedule and of managing their own workload, effectively prioritising tasks, meeting deadlines and delivering results
• Evidence of being a good team player, capable of working positively under pressure with a flexible outlook that supports the rest of the team
• Passion for social media, film and media, AV technologies with the enthusiasm and initiative to learn and develop new skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including copy writing and proofreading skills, with experience of writing accurate, engaging and accessible copy, including adapting language for specific social media platforms and audiences
• Able to create or commission high-quality audio, video and infographic content, with good understanding of what makes effective multimedia content
• Demonstrate outstanding administrative and organisational skills with a high degree of attention to detail

• Confident in knowledge: the postholder needs to work closely with colleagues and support the development of others by engaging in and contributing to the school as a learning organisation and to its positive culture

Desirable:
• A higher education relevant qualification would be desirable
