This role is based in our studio in Kilkenny, Ireland, unfortunately no option to Freelance.



Rick and Morty is a classified 16+ show and while the subject matter of the show is presented in a fantasy or comic context, the production may contain contextually justified strong language, references to sex, drugs, horror, threat, and/or violence of a non-gratuitous nature, which some applicants may find objectionable. About the role



As an animation supervisor you are responsible for the provision of technical and creative support and guidance to all the animators and leads on the project. The role may also include mentoring of junior artists.

What you'll be doing



Brief and liaise with the assigned lead animators / animators on the production on their scenes ensuring the director's expectations are being met.
Provide guidance, support and direction to the assigned team of animators, optimising their respective capabilities and helping each animator meet their assigned quotas.
Answer questions and give the team notes on scenes to maximize their abilities and time available for scenes.
Ensure prompt delivery of the animation scenes to a high quality in a reasonable time as agreed in the schedule.
Deliver correctly named scene files with tidy nodes, timelines, and layers, to the compositing/FX/retake department, following established protocols.
Assist the animation director in maintaining the look of the show.
Communicate with the animation director on any issues/challenges.
Lead and give clear and coherent review notes to individual artists in order to keep on style and on model.
Assist the animation director in approving scenes as needed.
Work along the build & rig supervisor on testing rigs and making sure they are suited for the animation team during the time of the production.
Work with the production team on scene assignments and breakdowns of animation quotas as needed.
Provide regular updates on progress and schedule through the line manager to the production manager and line producer.

What we're looking for



Advanced knowledge in Toonboom Harmony
Requires to have no less than 3+ years' experience in Animation for television or feature film and/or experience within a similar role
Strong understanding of traditional 2D animation principles
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
Attention to details and problem-solving skills
Experience with Shotgun is considered a plus
