Position overview
Mikros Image has opened a new animation studio in the heart of Soho, London, as we are currently working on Paramount's new 3D animated feature 'Gnomeo & Juliet: Sherlock Gnomes'. We are currently hiring for a 2nd Assistant Editor/I/O Wrangler position, where you will be supporting the 1st Assistant Editor in the editorial work for the whole production.

Job description
Carry out the In and Out of data between departments
Organise and ingest assets as they come available from client and other departments
Media management, ensuring that all media is tracked in an organised fashion
Maintain production database and recreate client cuts in Avid
Assemble timelines for review sessions
Run dailies sessions and client reviews
Provide support to artists in finding reference material
Miscellaneous editorial activities assigned by the 1st Assistant Editor and the production team

Competencies required
Strong technical knowledge of Avid Media Composer (ingesting/syncing/grouping media, exporting deliverables, editorial skills)
Good understanding of Film and HD video formats, codecs, files, frame rates and resolutions
Encoding/transcoding experience
Experience working in a professional Film/TV environment
Proven ability to multi-task, prioritise and problem solve, both individually and as part of your team
Strong attention to detail
Ability to communicate and interact positively in a collaborative group environment
Experience with Shotgun & Tweak RV a plus
Good technical aptitude to learn new software
Passion for animated features
Flexibility to work in a shift pattern
