Assistant Producer

London

We are looking for an experienced AP for a returning series with Richard Hammond based around a classic car restoration workshop.

Dates:
Start: End of October 2023 (exact start date still TBC)
(with two potential down weeks for Christmas)
End: 12th July 2024

Location:
This is largely a work from home role with some location work required for filming events. The Workshop is based in Hereford, so would need to be willing to travel there as required.

Key Skills/Requirements are:
- An interest and/or knowledge about cars and a reasonable knowledge of the car world.
- Instinct for story & character. As well as car-based research and AP-ing we'll be looking for experience in more general human interest programmes.
- Story-finding. This is done both reactively (through genuine applications through the business website) and proactively. Are you able to hunt out interesting car-based stories that can work within the context of the ongoing series/business?
- Casting. Cars are just bits of metal. It's their history and owners who bring them to life. You will need to demonstrate experience of casting brilliant unusual, counter-intuitive contributors from all walks of life.
- Organisation. Demonstrate a high level of organisation. You will look after forward planning of the events we feature, racing, car shows etc. So you will need to be very organised and understand the key elements to events shoots to ensure we maximise their editorial purpose and that they run smoothly on the day of the shoot.
- Confidence to run shoot day schedules with a calm and clear head.
- Strong editorial approach and ability to come up with fresh and exciting new ideas.
- Charm and determination to secure contributors
- Shooting experience would be beneficial
- This series is very important to the small team who have created it. We want people to show that they genuine passion for the job.

Additional information:
- Car events often take place at the weekends. So weekend work will be required (compensated accordingly)
