CGI VFX Pipeline Developer

Role: CGI VFX Pipeline Developer

Location: Will be remote-first, UK BASED ONLY, with meetings in the London office one a month.



About the role:
We're seeking a highly experienced CGI/VFX Pipeline Developer with a proven track record and exceptional Python proficiency to join our team. You'll play a crucial role in developing and supporting Oliver's transformational content engine - our innovative AI supercharged pipeline, enabling the end-to-end delivery of personalized dynamic content at scale. You will be contributing to cutting-edge CGI, AI/ML R&D. The candidate with be pivotal in shaping, refining and automating integrated processes, and designing bespoke tooling to support the team. This remote (BST) role requires previous demonstratable industry experience operating at a similar level. We might consider a candidate looking to take the "next step" in their career, subject to a demonstratable experience and track record. The role is remote, requiring a stable internet connection (fiber preferred), backup power supply (if necessary), and a suitable personal computer. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, able to manage multiple projects, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

What you will be doing:
Design, develop, and maintain efficient CGI production tools and processes.
Collaborate with the Head of CGI and the Pipeline Lead to identify and develop tools that meet project requirements.
Provide technical and process support for stills, animation, interactive content, and CGI production.
Adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment, maintaining transparency and consistency across all workstreams.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, sharing knowledge to enhance our production capabilities.
Proactively identify and implement efficiency improvements in workflows.
Develop and implement AI/ML solutions (generative AI, LLMs, image generation/modification).
Devise and implement chain-of-thought querying strategies for AI agents.
Utilize image generation and modification tools (e.g., Stable Diffusion, ComfyUI).
Contribute to R&D projects that may extend beyond traditional CGI applications.
Manage and wrangle renders, including render management integration.
What you need to be great in this role:
Team player with excellent communication skills.
3+ years' experience as a CGI/VFX pipeline developer.
Research and development background in emerging technologies.
Proven track record developing and implementing pipeline tools and processes to meet artist and client needs.
Excellent coding skills; Python 3+ years (essential), MaxScript, MEL, SQL.
Strong Object-Oriented Programming skills.
Solid understanding of CGI production workflows for stills, animation, and interactive content.
Proficiency with industry standard 3D software (ie. 3ds Max, Maya, Rhino 3D, Pixyz).
Experience with traditional 3D render engines (VRay desirable).
Post-production toolset experience (Adobe Creative Suite, Foundry products).
Understanding of real-time applications (ie. Unreal Engine 5, Unity)
Git (3+ years) and source control expertise.
Understanding of CI/CD processes (Azure DevOps).
Familiarity with AI/ML technologies and prompting.
REZ package management experience.
Experience with AI/ML, particularly generative AI and LLMs.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with dynamically shifting priorities; self-motivation and timely delivery.
Adaptability to engage in R&D beyond traditional CGI.
Desirable Skills:

NVIDIA Omniverse: Prior experience working with the NVIDIA Omniverse platform and USD is a plus. Familiarity with USD pipelines and Omniverse's collaborative features will be beneficial
Experience with automotive brands.
Familiarity with product configurators.
Experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud preferred).
Ability to work with complex datasets (OEM CAD / Digital Twin pipelines).
Full-stack development skills, including web application deployment, hosting and Pixel streaming.
