Your role: As the Head of Digital, you will be responsible for driving the digital strategy of The Scottish Sun, enhancing our online presence, and ensuring our content reaches and resonates with a diverse and growing audience. You will lead a team of digital content creators, developers, and analysts, working collaboratively with other departments to deliver compelling and interactive content across all digital platforms.

Day to day you will:

Oversee The Scottish Sun website, social channels and video output

Edit stories to ensure the highest standard of presentation, particularly in headlines, pictures and video, to maximise traffic and dwell time

Work with editorial colleagues across our integrated newsroom for fresh lines, particularly on large live and breaking stories

Manage online news operation, audience teams and audio/video departments

Work collaboratively with internal departments including commercial and marketing

Interpret analytics to report to colleagues and the wider business on a regular basis

Maintain an excellent relationship and seeking opportunities with the online, audience, sport, tech and video teams across the whole of News Corp

What we are looking for from you:

Digital experience on a fast-paced national news platform

Experience in managing and leading high performance teams

Expert in SEO, social media and digital news delivery

Experience of video production, commission and knowledge of emerging platforms

In-depth knowledge of analytics and ability to interpret data and implement new strategies

Keen awareness of the digital media environment, trends and audience behaviours

Skilled in creating commercially viable editorial projects and initiatives

Understanding of Scottish Sun DNA and how it translates to digital platforms

Fully aware of legal issues, the Editors' Code of Practice and IPSO standards
