42 are seeking a full-time Head of Production to oversee a busy scripted HETV and film slate. Working to the Executive Producers and the COO, the candidate will oversee current drama productions, providing practical and logistical support to individual production teams, and across development projects. The position would suit an experienced HOP/Producer/Line Producer who is looking for a permanent in-house position.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Managing the everyday operations of the production of television drama and feature films to ensure that productions run smoothly, meeting budget targets and deadlines. * Working closely with the Executive Producers, COO, and CFO and departments such as accounting, legal and operations, to ensure all are working together efficiently. * Budgeting and scheduling; reviewing budgets and schedules and assessing feasibility; forecasting; overseeing cost reports; managing cashflows and financing for all productions. * Working closely with the Producers, Line Producers and Accountants on productions and providing practical and logistical support, and troubleshooting productions as necessary. * Implementing production strategies and company policies, and supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives on productions. * Negotiating deals with agents; working with the Head of Business Affairs and legal teams to ensure contracting is within agreed operating processes and handled punctually. * The role is based in the Central London office - set visits to production locations may be required from time to time.PERSON SPECIFICATION * Proven track record as an HOP, Producer or Line Producer in TV (and film if applicable) with significant experience of all aspects of producing. * Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and an enthusiasm for implementing systems, and a passion for production. * Self-motivating and proactive, with excellent communication skills and an enthusiasm for creative and logistical problem solving. * Sensitivity when liaising with talent representatives and industry representatives with strong negotiation skills. * A team player with a strong collaborative ethos and belief in the team over the individual. * Knowledge of guilds and unions, and current PACT trading terms and guidelines. * Knowledge of UK and foreign tax credits. * Knowledge of Health & Safety, Child Protection, Data Protection, Covid guidelines and other production policers and industry standards within the production environment.We are looking to address issues of under-representation in the industry, so are especially keen to hear from people who are from backgrounds currently under-represented in TV.
