We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Video Editor to join the Social & Online team. This role will report into Video Editor sitting within the social & online team, supporting video editing needs across all brands and platforms, with a focus on our VOD service, UKTV Play. A typical day might include watching a UKTV Original show (such as Meet The Richardsons or Bangers & Cash) and using your knowledge of digital audiences to select the highlights that will be loved most by fans on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. All of your work will contribute towards the growth of UKTV's social presence, creating attention grabbing, high dwell time content to deliver on our ambitious view targets. In this role you will get to: Be part of a growing, award-winning social team Work on best-in-class content that reaches an audience of millions Work on varied video briefs, from a 10 second TikTok to a longer form video for FacebookResponsibilities / Role Specification: Job role: Support video editors and social media managers in sourcing, researching and editing best in class video content across multiple social media platforms, according to set briefs Communicate with the Digital Co-ordinator, social media managers, and other UKTV teams to deliver content on schedule and on brief Follow content brand guidelines, platform best practices, and legal compliance Support Social team with on-location shoots, including use of audio and camera equipment Experience: Some experience editing video assets for social media platforms using Premiere Pro (please include viewable examples in your application) A demonstrated history of successfully working in teams Experience with camera and audio equipment is desirableKnowledge: A digital native with a good understanding of trends and different platform features across the social media landscape Passion for social media (particularly YouTube), TV and digital content (comedy and factual) Skills: Basic skills in Adobe CC Suite - especially Premiere Pro and Photoshop Excellent communicator and team player Highly organised to manage own workload and deliver on tight deadlines Strong attention to detail, with a keen eye on editorial to turn episodic content into social formats Excellent grammar and spelling Proactive and flexible approach to work, comfortable with a dynamic environment with constantly changing priorities Who you are:You will have some video editing projects under your belt, but this is a junior role and we don't expect you to know everything. Enthusiasm, passion, and a desire to develop in an exciting environment are more important than lots of industry experience. You'll be comfortable working with a range of teams and individuals, and have the communication skills to collaborate effectively, influence with impact and represent the social team across the business. You're passionate about story-telling, and have the content instincts to watch an episode of a TV programme and know which moment will drive the highest engagement and retention online. You know your end screens from your YouTube cards, and understand the ingredients for the perfect Instagram story. You might have a YouTube or TikTok channel yourself, or just spend a lot of time on the internet watching James Acaster compilations.Hybrid-WorkingAt UKTV, we are working in a hybrid environment with a mixture of home and office working.
