The Render and Lighting Artist is responsible for crafting realistic lighting and rendering solutions that seamlessly integrate CGI elements into live-action environments. Delivering a creative, inclusive work community that encourages collaboration, engagement and mutual trust at its core.

General Duties:
Create and refine lighting rigs to match the mood, style, and physical properties of live-action footage.
Optimise rendering settings for efficiency and quality, balancing detail and production deadlines.
Maintain organised file structures and adhere to established naming conventions and technical standards.
Work closely with Animation Director, Head of VFX and compositors to align with the artistic and technical vision.
Attend review sessions and contribute to solving creative and technical challenges.
Ensure rendered frames meet the highest visual standards before delivery.
Address discrepancies between renders and the final look required for compositing.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Experience with Blender Cycles render engine preferred, but other industry standard software also acceptable (e.g. Maya, 3DSMax, Arnold, V-Ray, Redshift).
Proficiency in rendering optimisation techniques to manage complex scenes.
Familiarity with After Effects for integration purposes.
Strong understanding of colour theory, shading, and the physics of light.
Ability to replicate and enhance lighting aesthetics based on live-action references.
Proven experience in CGI/live-action hybrid productions is preferred.
Solid portfolio demonstrating expertise in realistic lighting and rendering for integration.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to interpret feedback and adjust work accordingly.
Experience with HDRI workflows and on-set lighting data integration.
Basic scripting abilities (Python, MEL) to streamline lighting and rendering tasks.
We actively encourage you to apply if you come from a group that is under represented in the TV industry. This includes, but is not limited to, Black, Asian and ethnically diverse candidates, neurodivergent & disabled people and people from the LGBTQ+ community; those not in education, employment or training; under employed or people on zero hours contracts.
