Operations Manager

London / Hybrid HYBRID

Purpose of the role:
To take technical responsibility for all content across all platforms, ensuring material is of the highest technical quality
To be the go to person across Paramount for any technical queries relating to broadcast standards on-air functionality, internal systems and projects in development relating to the kids content
To work closely with other teams throughout the UK and the wider Paramount brands in order to ensure alignment and optimal efficiency
To work in tandem with the Director, UK Content Architecture Manager to further the growth of the wider portfolio compliance/operational teams
Strive for operational efficiency in content sharing between the Pay and Channel 5 channels.

Key Accountabilities:
Operations:

Take responsibility for the technical quality of all kids content on UK linear and non-linear channels/platforms
Continually look to drive efficiency, working closely with different teams globally to understand where improvements can be made
Seek alignment opportunities between Pay and C5, to streamline the departments workings.
Collaborate with Paramount Engineering to push for cutting-edge solutions to ensure optimisation across the board while future proofing the business
Responsibility for budgetary requirements for formatting, dubbing
Manage the relationship between the IMM and Nickelodeon UK Operations/ C5 BOps and Red Bee, ensuring any problems are dealt with to ensure a good level of service
Visit IMM offices when necessary in order to maintain the IMM relationship (above)
Troubleshoot any loss of broadcast service and manage any on air style issues such as graphics/channel bugs/clocks
Participate in cross-brand Operational Council to drive operational excellence across all Paramount brands
Act as project lead for Nickelodeon for any operational changes which will impact the brand
Work closely with Director of Content Architecture, in order to ensure operational consistency across brands where possible
Assist in workflow implementation and development, working in collaboration with the sister brands and the Media Technology and Post studio teams
Manage the content delivery relationship between Nickelodeon Domestic and International, and trusted sources workflows, troubleshooting issues and finding solutions
Oversee high profile live events in the UK such as the KCA's, producing a show for multi-national broadcast.
Oversee asset management workflows including QC/FPA
Work alongside Compliance team to manage all content arrivals, ensuring broadcast specs and deadlines are met
Work with the Multi-Platform team to ensure delivery of all material to VOD platforms with minimal QC rejections
Organise and provide training for teams when upgrading or moving to new software/hardware
Build relationships and manage content sharing across other brands/3rd parties
Act as a post-production resource for global acquisitions should they need any editing to ensure they meet regional linear and VOD playout requirements
Update legacy content in regular rotation ensuring that best quality assets are playing out across linear and VOD, improving international assets where possible
Management of coordinator/operator role to include the QC process of all Nick and Milkshake material through technical QC
Manage the revoice work on behalf of Nicklodeon
Negotiate deals with 3rd party revoice facilities and liaise with internal and external Legal and Finance teams on deal memos, contracts and payments.
Initiate and manage the delivery agreements and media traffic between Nick UK and 3rd party revoice facilities.
Manage relationship between Nick UK and 3rd party revoice facilities to maintain high quality and cost effective UK content at all times

Experience and Knowledge
5 to 7 years of proven experience in operations within the UK market, preferable within Children's TV
Extensive knowledge and experience of dealing with all aspects of Broadcast Operations
Proven experience of being involved in large-scale projects, and leading them as and when required
Experience in working with Engineering, IT and Post Production teams
Highly proficient in broadcast technology with a vast knowledge of broadcast media formats
Demonstrable editing experience with solid knowledge of editing platforms (Adobe Premiere Pro and Avid preferred)
Demonstrable problem solving skills
An ability to quickly learn new workflows, in order to better troubleshoot issues and seek out fixes from wider departments
Demonstrated understanding of the Nickelodeon and Milkshake and its key competitors
Excellent communication skills in all formats
Evidence of building strong, trusting relationships internally and externally
