We are looking for an experienced Production Coordinator or Junior Production Manager with a passion for media and international development, to join our friendly London based team on a permanent basis.You will be project managing a range of exciting and varied projects in different countries, across different formats, genres and platforms including TV, radio, social media and mobile distribution, reaching tens of millions of people across Africa.More specifically, the Production Coordinator role will include the following responsibilities:1. Working with DMI UK's creative team, in-country staff, and project managers to develop production budgets and timelines, within broader project constraints, for a range of content, and then managing production in line with those budgets and timelines2. Negotiating with, and contracting, subcontractors related to production 3. Managing the dubbing process for new language versions of DMI's content. This will include subcontracting editors, obtaining high quality translated scripts, and quality control. You will also support other DMI creative staff with casting and directing4. Risk management for all productions5. Putting forward DMI's content for awards and to film festivals to increase DMI's visibility in the film industry and facilitate making connections with emerging creative talent6. Creating subtitles and end cards for finished content using editing software7. Being a key point of contact between DMI UK and in-country teams for all production-related activities8. Managing the filing system for all audio and visual content and scripts created by DMI, including collating, and storing, all paperwork associated with the content such as release forms and contracts9. Other tasks as required by DMIPerson specificationRequired knowledge, skills, and experience:1. Experience managing budgets and schedules for tv, film and/or digital content production2. Self-motivated and hard working with a keen eye for detail3. Great organisational skills and ability to juggle multiple projects4. Strong computer skills, experience using online databases, and ability to understand new programmes and design software6. An interest in public health, film, radio, social and behaviour change (SBC) campaigns or international development.Desirable knowledge, skills, and experience:1. Additional language skills, particularly in French, Portuguese and/or Swahili 2. Previous editing experience3.
