Production Manager

UK and internationally

TNT Sports has a Creative Production Manager (Freelance) role available within the Sports Programming team, commencing as soon as possible until end June 2025 (extension possible).

At the heart of TNT Sports, the Sports Programming team produce both live and non-live content that facilitates, provides short form and long form creative content to associated productions and platforms.

Our goal is to create content that resonates with our target audience, amplifying awareness of key rights and events and do right by the fans.

This critical role will involve working across all aspects of production management in both a live and non-live environment. You will be responsible for the planning and management of location shoots, live outside broadcasts, remote based and studio productions.

The role is full-time and will involve travel within the UK and internationally (if required), onsite as well as working from our Chiswick and Stockley Park facilities. There will be some weekend work and unsociable hours in the office and onsite.

The successful candidate will start as soon as possible, with the contract ending approx. end June 2025.

ROLE
• Responsible for the planning and management of regular location shoots and remote based productions, including planning, technical requirements, schedules, freelancer, supplier and contributor bookings and management, logistics (including travel and accommodation bookings, transportation), call sheet preparation and distribution, venue liaison and location management.
• Works across both live and non-live content production, including adhoc outside broadcasts, as well as other onsite production activities.
• Experience and knowledge in all areas of post-production.
• Work closely with production team to ensure delivery of programming as advised by editorial team.
• Work closely with internal departments to ensure all scheduled programming is available for transmission/delivery.
• Be a main contact for internal and external parties on behalf of productions and liaise regarding production plans, details and cross-overs/collaborations.
• Liaison and negotiation with stakeholders, suppliers, third parties and freelancers to ensure programming delivered on time.
• Manage and maintaining excellent relationships with external clients and suppliers.
• Manages the production budget with the Executive Producer of Sports Programming, as well as cost reporting and forecasting to management and finance via our financial system (Provys).
• Supervises and manages the Production Co-ordinators/Assistants allocated to the production.
• Ensure purchase orders raised and invoices processed in a timely manner.
• Responsible for the health, safety and risk assessment management for their production.
• Analyses and improves production workflow efficiencies.
• Book, update and review technical facilities required for programming, including communications with internal and external partners, internet and fibre connections, uplink/downlink and playout.
• Complete all necessary production paperwork, as well as ensuring all data entered into the bookings and financial system (Provys).
• Book non-technical programming requirements, including green rooms and catering.
• Manage staff expenses and centrally settled corporate cards.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE - REQUIRED:
• Experience working as a Creative Production Manager in both a live and non-live content production environment, with a knowledge and understanding of filming on location, live outside broadcast, studio and remote based productions (ideally sport).
• An understanding and experience of managing the technical and creative processes of production and post-production.
• Strong organisational and planning skills and proven experience of managing conflicting demands to meet deadlines.
• The ability to manage interpersonal relationships effectively and work collaboratively within a diverse team.
• Extensive television industry contacts.
• Impeccable attention to detail.
• Proven experience of leading, developing and motivating teams.
• Strong business and finance skills in creating, forecasting and managing large production resources and budgets.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Strong negotiating skills and proven experience of influencing, managing and negotiating deals and contracts in line with TNT Sports' policies and guidelines.
• A good knowledge of health and safety guidelines/regulations.
• Excellent PC skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, Zoom and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
• Ability to work unsociable hours in the office and onsite.
