Series Producer

Remote & on location in the North East

Signpost Entertainment (Part of MultiStory Media and ITV Studios) are looking for a SERIES PRODUCER to join one of their productions: See Hear.



Dates: Start date is late November/early December 2024 with a view to offering a 12 month contract.



Location: The role can be based anywhere however you will be expected to be in Gateshead / the North East to film the links for the programme.



Role: The Series Producer will work on the new series of See Hear for the BBC. See Hear is a magazine show with journalism at its heart.



Are you an experienced, senior programme maker, with a proven ability and track record of leading and working with a diverse range of filmmakers? You'll be full of ideas and enthusiasm for this series with a great work ethic and excellent leadership skills.



Key Responsibilities:



To provide creative leadership to the editorial team, guiding them through production of the magazine style series, demonstrating sound editorial judgement and subject sensitivity within editorial guidelines throughout.
To line manage and work collaboratively to visually drive content both in terms of style, scripting and structure encouraging innovation, on-going creative renewal and high production values.
To work closely with production management and finance colleagues to manage and mitigate events as they arise through production and take appropriate action.


Skills you'll need (Minimum role criteria): These should be demonstrated within your CV.



Demonstrable journalistic sensibilities.
Proven ability to work at Series Producer level, including a proven ability to lead a team and manage all people issues with tact and diplomacy making a conscious effort to build rapport to ensure the smooth running of the series.
Demonstrable ability to create a volume of ideas relevant to See Hear.
Ability and enthusiasm for the series and to closely collaborate with the Creative Director. Please show evidence of previous experience of this in your application.
Demonstrable experience of working with Deaf programme makers and working with a predominantly Deaf team. Please provide evidence in your application.
Demonstrable ability to show a resourceful and solution-focussed approach to achieving editorial ambition within budgetary and legal constraints.
An understanding of the Ofcom code and any production related legislation.

Good project management skills demonstrating proficiency in all aspects of production leadership: creative, commercial, technical, logistical and people.
Enthusiasm and resilience with a proven ability to maintain performance levels in the face of ever-changing priorities and workload.
