Technical Producer

London

Operating mainly out of our Chiswick office, but primarily covering our outside broadcast, venue and stadium work, our Technical Production team provide technical assistance at onsite events, for live broadcasts. They are also heavily involved in the planning and preparation of the technical delivery of the events, under the guidance of the wider production team. Hours of work are Scheduled to Requirements, 160 hours per month plus overtime where available.

JOB PURPOSE

Operating mainly out of our Chiswick office, but primarily covering our outside broadcast, venue and stadium work, our Technical Production team provide technical assistance at onsite events, for live broadcasts. They are also heavily involved in the planning and preparation of the technical delivery of the events, under the guidance of the wider production team.

Hours of work are Scheduled to Requirements, 160 hours per month plus overtime where available.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be present at all on-site, outside broadcast and stadium events as required, providing technical knowledge and support to the Production and Engineering teams where required.
To be across the technical aspects of all the broadcast, live-event and television systems installed at Brentford FC, Wembley National Stadium, Arsenal FC as well as other offsite venues as required and dictated by workload and concurrency.
To ascertain and learn the technical requirements and event-day operational procedures required for live stadia productions, with a view to eventually becoming self-sufficient across all locations.
To assist and carry out site surveys of various stadia, at various locations across the country.
To work closely with the Production and Technical team in planning, costing and overseeing all live-event projects, as required.
To undertake any duties as required across the business, as assigned from time to time. This will include, but not be limited to, studio work based across the Gravity Media UK locations.
Adhering to our company H&S policy and ensuring that all company risk assessments are observed where applicable to your role, taking ownership of improvements and escalating concerns where necessary.
Contribute to the continual improvement of our management systems to ensure compliance with our legal obligations and maintain certification.

EXPERIENCE PROFILE

A minimum of 3 years' experience in a live technical capacity, or equivalent role within a live sports production environment.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Experience of working within a live-programming production environment, sport or otherwise
An excellent eye for detail is always required, due to the pressures of live events and productions, and the complexities they bring.
Excellent communication skills, professional and courteous manner
The ability to listen to instructions from senior team members and act accordingly is important.
A willingness to learn and mentor more junior members of the team.
A flexible team-player, who is happy to adapt working hours as required and willing and able to work most weekends, due to the nature of the sporting calendar.
Familiarity with camera and audio acquisition, technologies both operationally and as a support function.
Situations may arise where the candidate is client-facing, so a smart appearance and personable manner is required.
A full clean, UK driving licence.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
A basic understanding of broadcast and live-event technologies.
The ability to work alone at times on parts of projects, if required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Educated to a minimum of A/AS Level desired but not essential, degree level discipline in Broadcast related subject desired but not essential.
