Trainee Researcher

Glasgow

Researchers are part of the editorial team, who are responsible for the creative content of TV making.

Description:

A good researcher watches a lot of television, is interested in people and can build good relationships. They have a keen eye for detail and are able to acquire an in-depth knowledge of any subject they are tasked with. They are persuasive and demonstrate tenacity to get the job done.

The role is to help senior team members turn the programme treatment into a reality by finding the people, stories and locations to form the actual content of the programme.

The researcher role can be complex and varied, with many aspects to the job depending on the type of programme being made. The skills and experience noted below cover most of the main areas required, with an understanding that trainees will need to develop many of these skills.
