We are looking for a talented Art Director with previous TV production experience to join our busy and dynamic in-house Creative Department.

Manoto - "Me and You" - is a ground-breaking Persian-language television channel.

Marjan TV Network Ltd.'s flagship channel presents the very best in fresh and original Persian language programming, broadcasting daily from London via satellite to millions of viewers across Europe, Iran and the Middle East.

Whilst our programming is Persian-language, our day-to-day working language is English.

The role
This is an exciting opportunity to be responsible for creating, visualising and stylising set designs and any graphic design material on studio-based productions for the Manoto channel, ensuring the visual design and aesthetic language communicates the desired message and functions of Manoto branded shows successfully.

Reporting to the Creative Director and working closely with the Production Supervisor, you'll meet with the producer(s) and director(s) to discuss concepts/scripts and production requirements for individual shows - clarifying the brief and costs, then agreeing suitable timescales for the set plans. Most importantly, you will deliver the set and creative (graphical) requirements in support of commissioned shows.

This means researching art history, background politics, historical information and producing design ideas based on this, relevant to the shows. This might include producing design ideas for costumes, wigs, props, special effects, make-up and graphics if requested by the production team or providing scaled technical drawings and/or models (if required) to support the creation of studio sets.

You'll be the point of contact for all set/prop related requests by management or production
Staff, as well as working with facilities to catalogue and store the sets away for future productions, with an itinerary of current sets and props in production and Art Department storage.

About you
A graduate of art, architecture, theatre, interior or 3D design, you have solid TV production experience gained in a broadcast or studio-based production environment, together with on-set location experience.

Whilst experience in film design would be a bonus, a practical understanding of building and construction is essential, together with a good understanding of the work of TV/film departments, such as camera, lighting, sound and props.

Visually creative and able to carry out thorough R&D, you're able to communicate clear and effective design ideas to teams and possess the leadership skills to motivate and direct a team.

In addition to your strong editorial and creative judgment, you comprehend production deadlines to utilise resources efficiently. Organised and punctual, you're also able to work flexibly. Technically, you possess:
• advanced knowledge of CAD and/or Sketch Up.
• a good knowledge of core Adobe software: Photoshop / Illustrator.
