Audio Visual Support Technician

Didcot

STFC Digital Infrastructure is responsible for the delivery of enterprise scale Information and Communications Technology (ICT) services that underpin the STFC scientific program of activities and campuses. Our drive is to help communicate the work of the scientific community at STFC.

The Role:

The prime purpose of this post to support and develop the conferencing requirements of the departments based at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory but this will extend to the wider STFC requirements to meet the ever increasing virtual events demand. The post holder will require a level of IT skills to support in person events and the ability to set up and manage virtual events on a variety of cloud event platforms. The Digital Services group supports photography and video for STFC and you will be required to support this service, if you have an interest in photography there will be opportunity to develop this within the role. Large format poster printing is a key function of the role, this will require the use of a printer Raster Image Processor (RIP) and PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat. Digital Services is the can do team that deal with many services so a strong customer relations ability is required from the successful candidate.

This individual must value teamwork and enjoy contributing to the group. He/she must be a self-starter and self-motivated and able to maintain professionalism while under pressure. Understanding the customer's needs and the importance of customer service is essential. Someone who wishes to continue to develop their skill set in a proactive environment.

Requirements:
• Excellent organisational skills
• The ability to safely lift and transport equipment weighing up to 25KG
• I.T skills with Microsoft office including PowerPoint
• Experience of using a Mac Computer
• Good awareness of Health and Safety
