Cameraperson/Stream Technician

Nationwide

Experience is not essential and any necessary equipment can be provided, though own equipment would be preferred (minimum of 1 x broadcast quality camera, LiveU or similar encoder, audio solution including at least 3 microphones).

We are looking to add a new member to our team of freelancers, ideally based in somewhere between Birmingham and London.

We provide a professional live-streaming and videography service covering various types of events.

The bulk of the regular work we would offer you is live-streaming funerals and weddings, for which we can receive up to 15 enquiries a week.

Most events are done solo but you may at times be joined by another member of the team to cover a larger or more complex event.

What you'll need:
- A theoretical, practical and technical understanding of cameras and audio equipment.
- The ability to frame and compose shots well.
- Smooth and accurate camera control.
- Communication skills.
- The capacity to multitask and think on your feet..
- The ability to work in a high-pressure environment.

And have:
- A full UK driving licence and own a car or van.
- Willingness to travel.
- Flexible availability.

Operators will work on a freelance basis and rates of pay vary according to the type and level of production. The minimum fee, based on a single camera funeral live-stream lasting between 30 and 90 minutes would be £150 plus travel.

The nature of some events can mean we get very last minute enquiries and bookings but we will always endeavour to give as much notice as possible. As such, flexibility and availability are quite important. We will also always try to find you local work but as we have a presence throughout the UK, travel will be required.

Working hours do vary, from typically 1-3 hours up to 8 hours plus. An average job would usually require up to 2 hours of setup along with 1-2 hours to undertake the task itself. Due to the potential for longer hours, as well as the need to carry or move equipment, the job can be physically demanding and you will also need to be comfortable working outside in all weather.

If you would like some further detail on what we are offering please just ask!
