Key Purpose of the Job:
This job works within the feature development department and is responsible for supporting all Creative Development and Research activities of the Company. Directly reporting to the Development Producer/Head of Development and Creative Director.

Needs to Do:
Tracking and identifying material for new projects, from submissions, talent and other sources including books and all other media. Researching material relevant to projects, including content and other comparable projects. Logging and responding to submissions, identifying any with potential; reading and writing reports on scripts and books etc.

Working within the Development Team in creating and supporting all presentation, pitch materials, written and visual. General Admin duties, including documents to support the Development Producer/Head of Development and Creative Director. Assisting with all duties for development, production as and when requested.

Maintaining, organising and updating a database, with a working knowledge of writers, directors, producers, composers and agents; and helping to identify key talent to the Company's projects. Liaising with talent agencies and legal representatives for key talent.

Scheduling and attending weekly development meetings. First point of contact for talent agents. Scheduling and chasing meetings with talent for Creative Director and Development Producer, making sure all are followed up.

A point of contact for Locksmith's Creative Board, liaising with the talent and their representatives. Organising creative brainstorms, pitch sessions, and improvisation workshops with key talent and Locksmith's Creative Board. Checking availability, scheduling sessions, liaising with agents, assisting in travel preparations, taking notes, and overseeing the running of the sessions on the day.

Creating sets of working notes for writers, directors, producers etc. during all writing and review sessions. As required supporting writers to keep an archive of drafts of treatments and scripts; proofreading and managing the presentation of scripts to industry standards; checking sense, continuity etc.; and issuing scripts and other materials.

Researching industry press to provide a regular weekly digest of relevant news for staff and board; and building and maintaining a database of known projects (both in development and production) across other feature animation companies, with in-depth knowledge about the animation release schedule and studio news. Analysing and understanding box-office revenues, financials, and milestones for the international animation scene.

Needs to Know:
A passion for development of a high end film project.
Good working knowledge of the international film industry and writer/director talent pool.
Understanding of story and script, including proofing and presentation.
Ability to multi-task across all areas of development and management, working with a small and dedicated team.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, Final Draft; Mac and PC literate.
Have a professional and friendly manner and be a good team player.
Desirable to have a good knowledge of the animation industry and talent.

Job remuneration and hours: Monday to Friday 9.30 am - 6.30 pm. Salary up to £35K PAYE depending on industry experience. 12 month fixed term contract. 28 days paid holiday inclusive of all public and bank holidays. Auto-enrolment to the company pension scheme.
