Independent production company Common Story are looking for an Edit Producer preferably based (or with a base) in the Midlands for a 30 x 10' children's series, exploring the magic of gardening, the natural world and how things grow.The role will suit someone who has an interest in child development, the natural world and loves storytelling.The successful candidate will:- Edit Produce 2 offline suites (mix of remote and in person working from our base in Digbeth, Birmingham)- Working with the SP, help shape the tone of the series- While shooting scripts will be written, we will encourage our contributors (aged 3 - 5) to explore as much as possible so many elements will be observational.- Upload rushes to a transcription service and create paper edits for the editors to cut down- Write VO and produce a final, time coded VO script ready for record- Liaising directly with our graphics partners to order and manage GFX- Help shape a musical tone for the series, working with the SP and composer to create a series playlist made up of original music and library music.- Ideally have experience of working in green screen edits, and use of false perspective.- Source archive to enhance the edit- Keep an shared log of progress updatedThe preferred candidate should be editorially strong and would have experience of making programming for 3 - 5 year olds, understanding the importance of using relatable language and pacing edits accordingly. Working across 2 edits concurrently (often remote) candidates will also be confident working with cloud storage platforms e.g. Google Docs/Drive and have strong organisational/cataloguing skills to ensure workflows and ingest of VO/archive is as frictionless as possible for the editors/post production house.This is a hybrid role split between home and our post production facility in Birmingham.
