We are looking for an industry-leading social media and content lead to develop the way in which Chelsea grows, engages and monetise audiences in the UK and globally.This position will be a key part of a newly created entertainment division at Chelsea, reporting into the Director of Entertainment, and will be expected to play a key role in liaising with other lead members of this area of the marketing department to drive growth and repositioning of the Chelsea brand.With over 150 million followers across Chelsea's social accounts, this role will play a vital role in engaging top of funnel audiences, and driving growth with both UK and international audiences.This role will also oversee how Chelsea can better syndicate and distribute content around the men's and women's teams, forming key partnerships.You will devise and lead the social media content strategy for Chelsea a role that involves, but is not limited to, the following duties:• Overseeing all of Chelsea's social media channels, for men's and women's teams, across a range of platforms.• Commissioning and distributing a range of premium quality content that appeals to Chelsea's fanbase in the UK and globally, across men's and women's football, through club channels, player channels and third-party distribution channels.• Taking a lead role in gathering social media and content requirements from internal departments for new projects or events, devising appropriate solutions and overseeing delivery in order to meet objectives• Driving social referrals back to Chelsea's owned properties, such as Web, App and Membership.• Working with the Head of Brand and Partner Campaigns to deliver high impact for club partners and key brand moments.• Engaging audiences that can be targeted for lead generation for the growth marketing team.• Working to better engage international fans, through fan events, particularly tied into pre-season and post-season tours, and work with key international influencers.• Supporting the development of digital revenue across key platforms, including Meta, Snap and YouTube.• Ensuring high quality measurement of key social media channels to inform wider business objectives and decision-making.• Oversee social media and content workflows and identify third-party tools that can enhance efficiencies.• Develop the club's relationships with major social media platform owners and other key digital stakeholders in the football family.Qualifications:Essential• Please note key qualifications necessary to be successful. These can be split in to Essential and Desirable if required.Experience:Essential• 10 years of experience managing social media content and distribution.• Demonstrate experience of designing and implementing successful growth and engagement strategies for social media channels.• Demonstrate significant experience of working across multiple platforms, tones of voice, and engaging with diverse audiences, preferably with some experience of football publishing.• A strong editorial and creative track record, especially in the delivery of content on social media platforms, with experience of managing creative teams.• A track record of adopting and leveraging new content trends, platform developments and algorithms, with a strong network of contacts at the leading global social networks.• Demonstrate significant experience in optimisation of social content across a multitude of different platforms to reach bigger and/or focused audiences.• Experience using social measurement and reporting tools, and how you have used analytics and data to improve and iterate on content performance through data-led decision making.• Proven experience of people management and helping others to perform to the best of their abilities.• Proven ability to manage diverse internal and external stakeholders, with often competing priorities and objectives.• Experience of growing and engaging key international markets.• Track record in driving monetisation of social and digital platforms.Desirable• Experience of success at a football club, other sports organisation or sports media publisher.• An interest and knowledge in men's and women's football.
