The A Side: A Day in The LifeAs Junior Producer at Universal Production Music you will be part of a team of producers releasing production music albums for the purpose of being synced on TV, advertising and other media. Providing creative and administrative support to the production team while developing the craft of producing albums yourself, the role requires someone imaginative and full of ideas in addition to being highly organised & process driven with excellent attention to detail. Key duties include:Produce albums under mentorship from the team of producersProvide administrative support to our joint venture labelsProvide creative and administrative support to the production teamCarry out admin duties, including budgeting and payment processingResearch and identify current music trends and gaps in the catalogueCommunicate weekly releases to the internal teamsSupport company repertoire initiatives and projectsAny other ad hoc duties as directed by leadership teamThe B Side: Skills & ExperienceBe CreativeDevelop album/project briefs Proactively research what music gets used across mediaProvide clear and concise creative feedback to composers & artistsCreatively tag and describe musicBe OrganisedEnsure all tasks are carried out in an organised and clear wayWork to deadlines, being able to effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously Carry out administrative duties with care and efficiencyBe CollaborativeWork closely with the team of producers, gaining knowledge from their experience and providing support when requiredBe a team player who can integrate well with the wider production music team, liaising with other areas of the business when requiredBuild strong relationship with roster of composers, artists & producersBe AnalyticalThink analytically about how and why music is used in mediaUnderstand data to help inform and educate on new content to commissionBe a problem solverPersonal SpecificationEssential A passion and understanding of the music and media businessA broad knowledge and interest in music across a wide variety of styles & genresProfessional experience working in music productionHighly organised, methodical and process drivenAbility to manage time effectively and work to deadlinesBe proactive and show initiative when requiredDesirableEducational background in music, media or closely related disciplineWorking industry experience at a publisher, production library or sync agencyUnderstanding of our client base and where are music is usedExperience in metadata taxonomy and tagging of musicExperience working with DAWs, such as Pro Tools, Logic, Ableton
