Imagine your future with us.ABOUT THIS ROLEAudible is looking for an energetic, experienced, organised and detail-orientated development producer/script editor to form a core part of the Original content team at Audible UK. This is the team responsible for such Audible Originals as the recent adaptation of George Orwell's 1984, Slayers: A Buffyverse Story and The Sandman. In this role, you will support the commissioning team and work on the UK's portfolio of Audible Original scripted drama, working closely with production teams both internally and externally to help us to continue raising the bar in audio storytelling across adaptations of existing work, and launching of brand-new IP. You have experience in script editing and/or story development, and have experience in and/or a passion for audio drama. You will report to the Director of Scripted Drama and Original Fiction.As Manager, Original Drama, you will...- Take on editorial responsibilities for a number of projects already in development for release in 2024, 2025 and beyond- Work closely with the production team to give feedback on casting suggestions and listening notes on draft audio- Manage the submissions process in scripted drama, reading and analysing submissions, providing recommendations to the wider team and helping to identify future partners and commercial successes- Ensure all manuscripts are delivered and published within business-critical timelines, and to the highest standards- Be an enthusiastic ambassador for scripted drama with internal stakeholders including production, programming, marketing and PR teams- Efficiently oversee tracking of the scripted slate in collaboration with programming and operational teams- Manage a portfolio of freelance editors, bringing in and onboarding new talent when requiredABOUT AUDIBLEAudible is the leading producer and provider of audio storytelling. For more information, please visit adbl.co/hybrid.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Experience as a Script Editor and/or Development Producer- Demonstrated experience in the publishing/entertainment industryPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Strong editorial instinct, alongside logistical, organisational and time-management skills- Able to work independently, proactively and meet deadlines- Dedicated, enthusiastic team player who works collaboratively and supportively- Excellent written and verbal communication skills- An understanding of book production processes- Passion for audio, storytelling and the wider entertainment landscape
