Reporting to the Studio Operations Manager and Team Leader for lighting and cameras, this is an exciting opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Camera Operator to join our team at ITN. The role includes working across ITV and C4 News as a studio based operator and also as an ENG operator on GMB, this role is split approximately 70/30 between Studio Camera and Live ENG work. The studio section will involve using a Jimmy Jib for ITV News, Channel 4 News is pedestal based and also involves the operation of Shotoku robot control for our London studio and remote operation of our Leeds studio, previous experience of all is preferred but training can be given where needed. GMB requires you to rig and light location lives and broadcast using a LiveU or SNG truck. Kit is supplied for the hits and a decent knowledge of lighting is preferred but once again training can be given in this area if needed. Key Responsibilities To operate a Jimmy Jib in the multi-camera ITV News virtual reality (VR) studioTo operate a pedestal studio camera in the live, multi-camera, Channel 4 News studio, operate Shotoku Robotic camera system.To operate a P2 ENG camera for live-linked inserts using LiveU or via an SNG vehicleWhilst working in the field, must be able travel to the location, rig the camera, LiveU unit and plan and rig lightingTo liaise with Reporters, Producers and Directors to plan live-linked reports and show initiative to shoot high-quality footage without guidanceThese are the main requirements of the role and is not an exhaustive list of duties. It is intended to reflect the nature, range, and context of the work, which will change over time.Key Requirements Candidates should have working experience of operating cameras within a live studio environment.Preferably, candidates will have experience in operation of jib cranes and hand-held ENG cameras.Must be able to swiftly follow direction from a Programme Director. A working knowledge of basic lighting in both the studio and field environments.Candidates must be proactive and be able to suggest and deliver alternatives and solutions to reporters and Programme DirectorsAn awareness of health and safety issuesFull driving licenseOur people are at the heart of everything we do at ITN.
