BAFTA award winning animation company in London requires a full time Post Production Assistant. The role of the Post Production Assistant will be under general supervision of the Editor and is responsible for preparing and organising episode materials through all stages of the editing process. Ideally the successful candidate they will have an understanding of the animation process and have previous editorial assisting experience in an animation studio or similar. The Post Production Assistant will have additional responsibilities in IT and will have strong technical computer skills in order to help with basic systems in the studio including setting up and managing e-mail accounts, dealing with server problems and maintenance. Tasks include:prepping for editing radio plays and leicas.investigate asset management systems for Scenes and QuickTime files.maintain and manage rendered files.assist in all areas of post production for delivery - labelling tapes, dubbing copies etc.stock take of tapes, hard drives etc.liaise with IT suppliers and the software developers. share the task of rendering scenes for reviews and delivery with the team-leaders.file management: creating file backups for the animation department and tidy up folders after the animators have completed episodes.setting up and managing e-mail accounts, dealing with server problems and maintenance of servers and animators work stations.Key Skills and Attributes:an understanding of the animation process and principles.prior editing experience is required in a post production house.experience using FCP.strong proficiency using and administrating MAC's and PC's.excellent communication and organisational skills with a friendly 'can do' attitude.ability to work with a minimum of supervision and ability to problem solve.have a calm, methodical approach.Start Date:October 2011 to February 2013 - subject to contractPlease send your CV and cover letter
