We are looking for experienced and multi-skilled Production Journalists to join our broadcast and digital news team at ITV News Channel TV. The successful candidates will be self-motivated journalists, who love the production and teamworking involved in broadcast news. You'll have a current contacts list, bulging with links to different communities, the ability to bring in ideas and a clear understanding of how to get them to air. You will be able to show how you cope with a demanding and changing workload, meet frequent tight deadlines and work calmly and inclusively under pressure. You'll also be able to share strong examples of working to a tight deadline in remote conditions during the pandemic. The roles are based in our Jersey newsroom, and the successful candidates will work on television and digital news production, from producing early, late and weekend bulletins and planning stories, to creating online content that enhances our reputation and engages our digital audience. You will also have outstanding written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to demonstrate good working relationships with colleagues and external contacts. You will have excellent editorial judgement and social media skills. You will have qualified in media law and have a thorough understanding of the Ofcom Code. To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills:Minimum role criteria: A strong knowledge of media law & compliance and the ability to exercise excellent editorial judgement and accuracy in your writing.A good knowledge of ITV Channel and the stories and areas of interest for the many communities in the region.Able to generate, research and develop original ideas, for online and television.A strong journalistic curiosity, good command of language, accurate spelling & grammar, and an eye for detail.
