About The Role
The Production Manager will lead a team of Signing Assistants and Technical Operators and be responsible for supporting the Head of Signing in the ongoing development and performance management of that team. They will ensure the high quality of signing and optimum productivity within their own team, as well as within the wider signing operation. They will also strive to identify cost savings and potential improvements to work processes - implementing, supporting and reporting on various projects and initiatives across and beyond the department, working effectively with colleagues as and when required.

Additionally, the Production Manager will be supporting and overseeing the Signing Team London UK, supporting business development and design and implementing necessary changes to move into a fully flexible model which best supports the evolving business needs of our clients for BSL live and pre-recorded interpretation.

Key Responsibilities
• Strong leadership of a signing team.
• Leading team members through change, especially relating to new technologies and workflows.
• Continuous administration of the IPM/performance reviews process for their team, while managing individual development and setting clearly defined productivity and accuracy targets.
• Identification and facilitation of training needs in collaboration with other teams within the department.
• Championing the continuous improvement of signing productivity and accuracy amongst the team they lead as well as amongst their colleagues.
• Provision of leadership and coaching for those in need of support to achieve agreed outcomes.
• Effective collaboration with the DM and Resources teams to deliver client requirements.
• Co-responsibility for all health and safety issues related to the team, liaising with the Head of Signing and HR when necessary.

What you will bring
• Expertise in signing production, both live and pre-recorded.
• Ability to support the Head of Signing's new projects.
• An excellent understanding of all signing production and support platforms, including Subito, Quantum, Vault, Ooona, Plan Bee, ARC and Ericsson Virtual Workplace.
• An understanding of a successful working relationship with deaf people and experience of working within a deaf-led team.
• Excellent people management and leadership skills.
• Excellent oral communication skills, and comfortable with leading meetings and taking care of difficult conversations.
• An ability to foster good relationships within Access Services,
• A good understanding of the DM, Scheduling, Materials and Resources workflows.
• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and good timekeeping.
• An understanding of the wider subtitling/AS market and pertinent issues.
