Position: QC/VT OperatorLocation: West LondonThis is an exciting opportunity to become involved in the operation, continued growth and development of a state-of -the-art post house facility. As a QC/VT Operator you will play a vital role in ensuring the overall success of the business. Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be part of the team responsible for the digitisation and segmenting of a wide range of media for distribution across various platforms and formatsResponsibilities¿ To ensure that all supplied material is checked and transmittable within OFCOM guidelines and the clients' specifications¿ Keeping accurate and detailed records in a number of systems of both completed and failed tasks¿ Where file based workflows are in use, ensuring that all materials are QC'd at creation and spot checked back off server¿ In addition to QC work there will be an opportunity for you to perform basic edits tasks such as clocking and compiling programmes ¿ Clients' needs and requests should be responded to appropriately and you must be able to instigate any remedial action should it be required¿ To keep abreast of changing technical standards¿ Maintenance of the QC suite in an operational manner and reporting all faults through appropriate channels¿ In this role you will be required to work a 40 hour week which will involve early and late shifts and the occasional weekendKnowledge and Experience¿ Previous experience in an Ingest/QC environment is necessary¿ Familiarity with various digitisation processes using waveform, vectorscope and cage generators and audio track swapping with the digi beta format preferential¿ Experience in multi format dubbing, quality control and some basic front panel linear editing ¿ Basic knowledge of final cut pro an advantage¿ Competence with Mac, PC, Microsoft Word and Excel Personal Skills¿ For this challenging position you must have strong organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure ¿ You will be an excellent communicator with persuasive interpersonal skills and be a strong team player¿ You must have the ability to identify and prioritise problems and then identify alternatives¿ An excellent decision maker you thrive when working on your own initiative but know when to refer to others¿ Must be punctual and able to manage own time and conduct several tasks simultaneously and to tight deadlines¿ You will be both literate and numerateIf you are an enthusiastic self-starter and would like to be part of a dynamic team within a pioneering post-production/broadcast environment please apply with a C.V. and cover letter
