The Role:

The School of Film, Media, and Creative Technologies at the University of Portsmouth is a place where students and staff thrive at the intersection of cutting-edge creative and technological disciplines. Our industry-leading facilities include our state-of-the-art Centre for Creative and Immersive Extended Reality (CCIXR), as well as high end motion picture cameras, film studios and post-production software. These resources fuel dynamic collaborations and partnerships with industry leaders and empower our students and staff to achieve exceptional outcomes.

Applications are invited for the position of Senior Lecturer in Film Production. We are seeking an experienced professional to join our dynamic academic team and contribute to the teaching of our renowned and accredited filmmaking programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping innovative teaching, learning, research, and development within our portfolio of highly successful courses.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a film practitioner, along with prior HE teaching experience. They should be committed to a student-centred approach to teaching and passionate about enhancing the overall student experience.

Active involvement in school and faculty initiatives is a key aspect of the role, including building industry partnerships, promoting professional practice, and enhancing graduate employability, student enterprise, and career development. Engagement in community outreach and fostering global connections will also be crucial. The role will involve supporting research and innovation efforts to strengthen the School's research profile.
