BBC Studios' Natural History Unit (NHU) is the leading producer of wildlife programming, creating award-winning content with a world class reputation. Our output ranges from ambitious landmarks for BBC One and iPlayer (Green Planet, Dynasties, and the forthcoming Frozen Planet II) to children's programming (Deadly Dinosaurs and Andy's Adventures), as well as ground-breaking adventure, formatted, presenter led, feature docs and event programming such as Endangered for Discovery Channel, Prehistoric Planet for Apple TV+ and live programming such as the BAFTA winning Springwatch for the BBC. We are about to embark on a new childrens series to save the world's sharks and create a new generation of shark advocates.We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic SP committed to conservation issues to lead this series. This person is highly organised, very good with kids and has experience in delivering serious science in a fun way for Fact Ent series. This post is for a seasoned and multi-skilled SP who has the confidence to simultaneously wrangle a presenter, a foreign shoot, complex safeguarding and working with children challenges... and sharks!!Are you the right candidate?You should be a skilled diver who has worked on dive shoots for actuality-led factual tv, with experience working with presenters and children.Strong writing skills and extensive experience leading producers through fast turnaround, challenging edits is key as is the ability to build and lead large creative teams over long projects.Ideally you will be experienced dealing with clients.It would be great to have experience working with sharks as well as experience running a casting process.Package DescriptionBand: EContract type: Fixed Term/attachment approx 10 mthsLocation: BristolWorking pattern: HybridStart date: 1/10/22Interviews will be held w/c 25th July or 1st August either in person or via Zoom.At BBC Studios we have different types of workplaces; from production sets and locations, to offices, to our own homes, and on-the-go.
