MailOnline has an incredible opportunity for a Social Media Editor to join its industry-leading team in London. MailOnline is the biggest news publisher on social media with more than 100 million followers across its wide-ranging and diverse stable of accounts. We're looking for an outstanding candidate who can cement that position, grow our traffic and drive engagement and follower growth.The candidate must have a proven ability to deliver world class innovation and growth in social media, particularly on Facebook, but also focusing on Twitter, Instagram and other platforms.You will work in a team of talented social media editors and writers, identity content themes and devise and implement new tactics and strategies, while maintaining editorial standards of excellence. You will work closely with our editors and journalists to deliver engaging content to our millions of followers. You must have a high regard for analytics and understand how to use it to inform actions - and deliver demonstrable success. Qualifications:Prior experience working with social platforms and crowdsourcing or experience managing social media platforms for a digital media publicationProficiency in Adobe Premier Pro is desirablePrior newsroom experience is essentialDemonstrable digital production skills, including an ability to work comfortably within content management systemsAbility to gather and analyse social media data and analyticsIn-depth knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.) Responsibilities: Assist Head of Social with editing MailOnline social feedsCover live events and breaking news on social media and emerging platformsWork closely with reporters and editors from various desks around the newsroom on social media projects and best practicesDisseminate knowledge of social media, crowdsourcing and reader engagement techniques in the newsroomMonitor daily social media analytics to gauge success of social media efforts and initiativesAssist Head of Social with coordination of and social interaction during live eventsMonitor the competitive landscape, identify trends in social media and news consumption The above list is not exhaustive and constantly evolving, based on the needs of the business.
