Social Video Content Producer (Russian-speaking)

London & Remote Working HYBRID

Zinc Network is an ISO certified business dedicated to meaningful, measurable change. Zinc conceptualizes and creates programs, interventions, and strategic communications campaigns around some of the world's most complex problems - from disinformation to extremism, media capture to authoritarianism. We are headquartered in London with offices in Washington, D.C., Tbilisi, and Warsaw with 80+ team members from diverse professional and cultural backgrounds.

Zinc works with a broad range of governmental, NGO, and private sector clients, including the UK Home Office (HO); the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO); the United States Agency for International Development (USAID); the U.S. Department of State (DOS); UN agencies and missions; and foundations.

About the role

The Social Content Producer (video) will be a hands-on creative thinker and will take responsibility for developing and creating engaging, innovative social content with a particular focus on video. Preferably based in London - though possibly working remotely from elsewhere in the UK - you will be knowledgeable about various social content formats as well as comfortable with ideating, producing and editing video and static content at pace. You'll need to be an all-rounder who is as comfortable working with Adobe Premiere or similar video editing software, as you are with InDesign, Photoshop, Canva as well as in-app video editing interfaces e.g. TikTok or Instagram.

You'll need to have a grasp of what creative content works well across social platforms. You'll be on top of the latest digital trends and developments, ensuring that your content is ahead of the game. Crucially, the way in which you interpret a brief must include standalone thinking for each of the platforms and placements so that content always feels native and unique to each channel and its audience.

You will have experience of making short social media videos from start to finish - finding archive clips and music, editing them together, adding captions. You will be able to script videos in a punchy and engaging way. Ideally, you will have worked in a journalistic environment such as a newsroom, so will have an understanding of editorial issues.

You will also have design skills, being able to produce social graphics as needed using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, AfterEffects, and other tools.

The person in this role has exceptional Russian language skills, both written and spoken. You must also speak fluent English.

What you'll be doing

· Developing standalone content and editing and improving existing materials

· Primarily developing short-form video content, as well as social graphics and GIFs

· Generating ideas and creative concepts as part of wider campaign brainstorms within the internal project teams

· Rapidly digesting content briefs and presenting creative options internally before developing agreed routes

· Ensuring content is up-to-date with developments within the context of campaign subject matter, as well as topical and cultural changes within the target audience and their online behaviours

· Ensuring that all content created is optimized for specific social channels, taking into account standard text spaces, safe zones, accessibility considerations etc.

Requirements
Creative skills required:

· Previous professional experience in using video editing software - Premiere Pro/Final Cut Pro (Premiere preferred)

· Confident user of Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign) and a working understanding of Canva

· Excellent creative copywriting skills with the ability to write clearly and concisely for different online audiences

· Previous experience of scripting/storyboarding, design and animation

· Experience of a news/documentary environment preferred (eg producing social content for a news organisation)

Social experience required:

· Experience of bringing campaigns to life across multiple digital platforms

· An understanding of formats required for a range of social channels, including Telegram, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok, with a particular focus on video-based placements

· Keen awareness of current digital trends including both content and formatting

· Sound editorial judgement and the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of your content

Other experience required:

· Motivated self-starter, flexible and adaptable to change

· Fluent Russian speaker and high level of English speaking.

· Comfortable developing content, presenting and communicating in both Russian and English

· Experience managing staff is desirable but not essential

· This is a UK-based role (London preferred)

Lastly, we're committed to hiring a diverse workforce from different professional and cultural backgrounds, and to that end we encourage a variety of people to our company to represent the diverse range of subjects associated with our projects.
