Do you have experience in costume maintenance and/or wardrobe support in a theatre environment? Do you work well within a busy team? Are you reliable? We are looking for an experienced Wardrobe Technician to join the Running Wardrobe team. The role is offered as a full time, fixed term position (for 3 months) based at the Barbican Theatre, London. The role will involve working on The Buddha of Suburbia and A Midsummer Night's Dream.In this role you will report to the Senior Wardrobe Technician and will be involved in all aspects of Running Wardrobe, including costume maintenance, laundry, and performance calls. Some of your duties will include:• Taking responsibility for your attendance, safe working, conduct and welfare, and supporting the building of an effective team• Working collaboratively with all staff on the production• Participating in the provision of wardrobe maintenance and dressing support for productions• Ensuring the maintenance of all costumes is always completed to the highest standards• Ensuring that all Running Wardrobe work is achieved within the time constraints setWe are looking for someone who has experience in a theatre environment including:• Proven experience of managing theatre costume needs and dressing for a range of artists• A strong understanding of Costume Prop Maintenance and Costume-related disciplines• Ability to work well in a team and lead others as required• Excellent organisation, time management and administration skillsThis role is offered as a fixed-term contract for 3 months and will be based at the Barbican Theatre in London.
