About Jonathan Finnigan

I am a British award-winning self-shooting director based in UK/France and Hong Kong. With 28 years based in Asia, I have made documentaries for international broadcasters like National Geographic Channel, Discovery, Smithsonian on subjects ranging from cricket in India, Chinese history, saving wild animals in Pakistan to forest preservation in Indonesia. During my time in China I made multi part series for the top streaming platforms, Sohu

I am a British award-winning self-shooting director based in UK/France and Hong Kong. During my time in China I made multi part series for the top streaming platforms, Sohu and iQiyi.

In the course of making these films I have had the privilege of filming in many remote and wild locations and interview movie stars, Oscar winning actor, leaders in business and the top professors.

I have directed, filmed and edited branded content for the likes of Shell, Caterpillar,, NBA, Kora and various sustainability efforts..

I have also directed TV commercials and branded content for Saatchi, BBDO, JWalter Thompson, Dentsu, Bates, Ogilvy, TBWA, Leo Burnett and Lowe.

I'm an active adventure racer and ultra marathon runner.

Director/writer/DOP I filmed for 8 weeks with a small crew in Pakistan observing the veterinarian team preparing the elephant to be moved and determining the strongest narrative elements as events unfolded. I performed all the interviews myself including Cher, who I filmed with for about 4 days in total.
